Communicare’s Haven House opened on July 1, 1978 and received its first resident on August 1, 1978. The Haven House was the first treatment center of its kind in the area. Originally located in rural Lafayette County, in a repurposed church building. The Haven House had an original capacity to serve up to 15 males at one time. We offered treatment ranging from 30 to 90 days. At its one year anniversary, The Haven House served 94 people.

Communicare is the community provider of naloxone. The Mississippi Department of Mental Health has tasked Communicare with making sure that naloxone is given out into the community to whomever may need it. In addition to providing Naloxone, Communicare will provide a Naloxone training to all individuals and/or organizations on the appropriate use of Naloxone.
